If you have been curious about what a red light therapy mask can do for you and your skin I strongly encourage you to go for it and try one out! I really think you will be pleased with the results.

Do remember that consistency is important, you should be using your mask at least twice a week, gradually building up to three times weekly for premium results.

I researched the benefits of light therapy long before I got one, I love mine and I’ve been using it for months.

The mask provides seven LED colors/wavelengths, five intensity levels, 1 to 5, and a 10-15-20 minute timer.

The different colors are geared towards different types of desired results.

Blue light helps kill acne causing bacteria, Green light targets dark circles and pigmentation, and the yellow lights are for penetrating deeply to trigger the lymphatic system.

The manual does a pretty good job at explaining how to use it, So far I have only used the LED Red light.

I think its a great way to start to incorporate light therapy into your self care and skin routine.

1.Anti-aging benefits

The main purpose of the mask is geared towards anti-aging by increased collagen and elastin production.

How it works is, the red light penetrates deeply and activates the fibroblast growth factors in your skin cells generating collagen & elastin.

I am in my mid thirties so a good skin care regimen is very important to me.

I have been using retinol since my mid twenties, it has always been my go-to for wrinkle prevention and it has always done the duty.

However, when I got pregnant at 34 with my youngest daughter I had to stop using retinol.

No retinol, no botox, and with strong hormones playing a part as well, it took a tremendous toll on my skin.

I tried to stay as hydrated as possible during my pregnancy, I also applied serums to boost my skins appearance, however, it just wasn’t the same skin that I was previously used to.

I felt as if I had aged years in a 9 month time span. When I finally got my hands on one of these masks I was beyond excited to try it out.

I started by using it twice a week at 15 minute intervals and by month two I was using it for 20 minute intervals, up to three times a week.

I noticed immediate benefits to this mask, not right away with the facial lines but it definitely seemed to make my skin tone more even.

I noticed this by the second week. My fine lines started to become less noticeable after about a month of consistent use, and its just continued to improve from there.

2. Wound/Scar healing

Red Light therapy helps increase blood flow and reduces inflammation, with the increased benefits of the collagen we already discussed it helps reduce the appearance of wounds and scars left on the face.

It leaves your skin smooth and even. I do not have many scars on my face, I luckily never suffered from acne but I know many people who did and still have some scars several years later.

I think using this mask would be a wonderful tool to reduce any noticeable acne scaring, or any scars for that matter.

3. Improved Mood

One of the things that I noticed immediately after using this mask was how I felt a state of calm and relaxation after using it.

I had previously read about this benefit of using red light therapy for improving mood and I can honestly say, it worked well for me, right away too.

The warmth emitted by the red light can lower your cortisol levels which promotes a state of calm and relaxation.

I have lived with awful anxiety my entire life so is was such an amazing benefit for me as someone with a nervous system that is so frequently out of sync.

I am proud to say over the course of the past few years I have really mastered some useful ways to help myself stay grounded and balanced and this mask has just gone to the top of my list as one of my go to stress relievers.

4. More Restful Sleep

Another thing I noticed almost immediately after use is how restful my sleep was.

This speaks volumes too because when I first started using the mask, my daughter was only five months old and I was still waking up throughout the night to feed her.

I still get woken up in the middle of the night but its amazing how I am able to fall back asleep and quickly get back into the Non-REM state so I don’t wake up nearly as tired and groggy.

There are other practices I have been doing as well to help achieve overall wellness and balance but I do notice a difference in the benefits of the red light.

5. Convenience

Another great thing about these masks is how easy and convenient they are to use, you can create a spa like ambiance in your own home with an essential oil diffuser going and some relaxing music and practice some self care and relaxation while producing amazing results for your skin.

This mask that I will link again below has a plugin as well as a power bank so you don’t need to sit or lay directly next to an outlet.

I love how I feel after my sessions and I think its safe to say I will be using LED light masks and red light therapy for years to come.
